About Me
|
My name is James Thibaudeau and I am a third year Education student. Earlier this school year, I ran for, and won, the position of Vice President External on the Education Students’ Association council. In my time on the ESA council I have had the opportunity to meet with ATA officials, faculty representatives, and superintendents (among others) in order to advocate for the Education student body. I have fought for opportunities for students to increase their hireability through volunteering opportunities and Professional Development sessions. I have fought for the student voice to be heard on councils and committees that directly affect their education. I have fought so that student issues have been brought to the forefront, and not neglected in the shadows of the background by those with the power to bring about change. Now I hope to bring my experience to the general student population. As I run for the Student’s Union VP External position, I will bring issues regarding Tuition, Financial Aid, Employability and Mental Health into the spotlight. It would be my goal as VP external to help you graduate from the University of Alberta with manageable debt, better job prospects to pay off that debt, and overall better well-being than you had when you entered your post-secondary education journey.
